Ronin (1998)

Inside a warehouse in Paris, five men and a woman are seriously discussing a mission. They are Deirdre (Natascha McElhone), Sam (Robert De Niro), Vincent (Jean Reno), Spence (Sean Bean), Gregor (Stellan SkarsgÄrd) and Larry (Skipp Sudduth). These five men are all former Special Forces soldiers or intelligence operatives from different country. The team is planning to attack a convoy of heavily-armed vehicles outside Nice and steal a suitcase.


Deirdre’s superior, Seamus (Jonathan Pryce), warns that the team must move quickly to get the case before the Russian gangsters do. With no time, the team departs for Nice, observe the location and prepare for the ambush. When they successfully obtain the case through a gun battle, suddenly Gregor betrays the team and steals the case. Gregor leaves a fake case with bomb inside that explodes and seriously injuring Larry.


Gregor sells the case to the Russians gangsters and to the Irish gangsters. Meanwhile, the team track Gregor through Sam's CIA friend and corner him. In the gun fight, Gregor shots Sam, kills Larry and escapes with Deirdre and Seamus. Sam seriously wounded from the fight. Vincent takes him to his friend Jean-Pierre (Michael Lonsdale) to remove the bullet and allowing Sam to recuperate.


Vincent and Sam discover that the case is identical to Russian ice-skater case, who will perform a show at the local arena tonight. Vincent and Sam track to the arena where Mikhi the leader of the Russian gangsters trade for the case with Gregor. Mikhi has positioned a sniper somewhere in the arena that will shoot if Gregor is betrayed. Mikhi kills Gregor and leaves with the case and the money. The sniper shoots the ice-skater and the crowd. Vincent and Sam follow the panicked crowd out of the arena in time to see Seamus kills Mikhi and steals the case. Seamus wounds Sam and Vincent before escape with Deirdre in the getaway car.
